I watched this movie on its first release only. My husband & I, went to the Waves, to watch this movie. There was too rush and we got the tickets luckily. The movie starting was very interesting...I was just waiting to see Angelina Jolie who played Grendel's mother...She was looking amazing in her character, very wild, very sexy and very hot but a true mother. This movie has a story but if youre going to Beowulf to experience the sweeping passions that only real eyes can convey, youre missing the point. I dont understand why people take themselves too seriously when it comes to literature and cinema. They also whine too much about gore and violence. I would just say..go in with an open mind and youll have fun. Some of the historically accurate touches are handled very nicely, only to be contradicted by an enormous anachronism in the next scene considering this is essentially fantasy, that shouldnt matter, but somehow, the fact that some nods to reality were given makes it confusing.
Well, this is an entertaining story and so entertaining to watch. Better than most movies Ive seen recently - including Bollywood movies... Go Beowulf!
