Sandboxie creates a virtual environment in your pc when you launch a program. To put it simply, you have installed a new software and you want to see how it affects your system (what files it creates, what changes in the registry are made etc) simply launch it through sandboxie control. As a bonus you can also undo all the changes made, as ssandboxie simply emulates the OS the changes made are simply written elsewhere than on your system.

Ive been using Sandboxie for over 2 years and it works great. It is freeware but like many free programs they ask for a donation. If you pay the one time lifetime registration fee you get a few extras and the nag screen that pops up when you start the program is removed.
I bought Sandboxie 6 months ago,not for the extra stuff,but because the program works so good.I felt they deserved some money. Plus I would not want to lose this program. Which happens sometimes with free programs.

Good: Free, System protection, Monitoring of changes
Bad: None in particular
This program does what it is made for - managing changes made by any software to your system. It is very easy to use and understand (apart from the settings file).
The good:
1) Tracks changes made to your system.
2) Very easy to use
3) Free: It nags you to register but it is free to use.
4) It is pretty useful if you want to try new programs.
5) Options to run your default browser, email client etc. directly.
The bad:
1) No offline help, no that you need it anyway. |
