Inspired by the Bentley's legendary ‘Speed' models of the 1920s, the Bentley Continental GT Speed is the most powerful production Bentley ever to top the 200mph mark. The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed is a car that defies traditional description and makes a spectacle of itself wherever it goes.
Drivers seeking harder-edged and sportier driving experience can get behind the wheels of the new Bentley. The Continental GT turned the fortunes of Bentley around, by attracting a generation of more young, rich buyers to buy the brand, which other wise appealed only to royalties and seriously rich customers.
Compared to the standard GT, the GT Speed is low and sleek, but exhibits equal doses of muscular power and absolute class. It features more upright grille for added cooling, which is necessary for a car producing 600bhp at 6,000rpm and 553 lb ft of torque at a mere 1750rpm.
. Despite inclusion of aluminium front suspension and other weight saving solutions, the coupé weighs at a mighty 5180 lb. The enhancements include lighter connecting rods and reduced internal pumping losses which accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 202 mph. The Continental GT Speed is a phenomenal product of engineering – a sports car draped in affluence.
