LG GS290 Mobile Review
LG GS290 is an inexpensive, touch screen model which costs about Rs 7500 only. This touch screen mobile comes with a youthful design and in 10 different colours. This mobile is aimed at youngsters eventhough the phone is an unsophisticated one.
The interfaceof the model LG GS290 is quite simple, user friendly and attractive. The phone has eyecatching icons and widgets on the homescreen and a sporty look, which will attract the young ones.
About the specifications the handset LG GS290 has a 3" display, which is clear and bright but you have to press harder since it has the resistive technology. It is a bit difficult to get the things done with this. The keys of the mobile / buttons are conveniently placed, mainly, the call, end and power buttons. The feel of the mobile key pad of the LG GS290 phone is quite nice and is placed below the screen.
The volume rocker and a micro SD card is placed on the left side and camer with the screen lock keys are placed on the right.The mobil also has a micro USB port on the right side as well as a 3.5mm audio jack at the top.
The Camera which comes with the mobile is only 2 mega pixels and so nothing much to cheer about. There is no flash but considering the price image and the video quality can be acceptable.
The music interface is simple and easy to handle the basic functions like repeat, shuffle, backward, forward and edit your play lists. This mobile also has built in equalizers and the speaker is louder and clearer than many of the models which come in this category.
The internal memory can be extended upto 8GB which should be sufficient for the young users, on whom the mobile is aimed at.
There are 3 home screens namely Live square, the first one, allows the user to put up animated avatars representing frequent contacts, alerts from these contacts and also text or email them quickly. , the second one is similar to the live square but minus the animation and serves as a speed dial pad. the third screen can be used for various applications and populated with widgets, and shortcuts.
The phone LG GS290 has a full html web browser which allows the user to open even the most complex websites, keeping the scrolling easy all the while. Facebook, Twitter, My space and You tube are also well integrated inn the handset
This handset LG GS290 is powered by a Lithium ion battery which gives the user 6 hours talk time and 16 days stand by time. The phone is very light and small sized. With all these only the youthful looks and appeal makes the LG GS290 stand out from all the other phones which might be better off but this gives you a good value for money.
