Slumdog Millionaire (2008) Review When I heard all the news related to this movie, I wondered what this movie was exactly. It had to be something to get that applauds. People seem to love it. But when I saw this movie, I really wondered was so special about it. Apart from A.R.Rahman's work, I don't know what so good about it. A.R.Rahman has done a terrific job with the music score, as he always does. He is a fantastic composer, singer and the best director we have today. He deserved Oscar! But apart from that, I wonder why people really liked the movie. What is so cool about this movie, that people appreciate it so much? The storyline is very much common. The same age old love story, only for a change this background of slums and the slum dwellers, but even that again is kind of repetitive. I mean we all do have at least a slight idea what kind of a life in slum would be! But showing all that on screen is just about getting ourselves naked in front of everybody and capitalizing on that. We should understand that with all this we let people make fun of ourselves. Hasn't anyone seen tourists taking pictures of slums and displaying in exhibitions. What does the slum dwellers actually get by that? Apart from the fact that these two kids actually got to live a good life after working in this movie, I don't think there's anything to talk about it!
