Samsung Guru 1210 Review
When my sister decided to buy a new mobile phone, she was not looking for a phone with a sophisticated camera or other fancy features. All she wanted was (1)a phone to communicate, (ii) a phone with an FM, (iii) a phone in which she could hear the caller, and (iv) a low-budget phone. All these simple but essential features she found in the Samsung Guru 1210.
First of all, the Samsung Guru 1210 looks ordinary and is available only in black, but that was not really an issue so it did not matter. It is easy to hold due to its good contours. The FM Radio has very good audio and a good feature of the Samsung Guru 1210 is the channel hot key which gives instant access to often-accessed stations. The 1.77" screen provides a very clear display of messages. Both Hindi & English input display is present. As in most phones of this size, though, playing a game is a strain on the eyes. This, too, not an issue, since my sister anyway never plays games on a mobile.
Not just the FM audio, even when somebody calls, the audio is so good that if the caller happens to be talking in a even slight high pitch, others in the room can hear the caller!
As for memory, the phonebook feature can store up to 500 entries and it is easy to retrieve a required number. The storage capacity of SMS is up to 300 messages.
An advanced feature of the Samsung Guru 1210 is the Mobile Tracker 2.0. In the remote possibility that the phone is lost or stolen (God forbid!), the Mobile Tracker helps you to access it from another mobile phone. It will provide information about the mobiles location. Even better, it allows you to forward your calls to another number and delete your private contacts. Imagine doing all this when the phone is not physically in your own possession - fantastic, right?!
At Rs.2000/- [got it at a discount!] the Samsung Guru 1210 is a really good buy for people who want a basic mobile with no frills. Believe me, its a real steal at this price.
