Rangoli- Saravana Bhavan Review After shopping to your heartfull in the Pondy Bazaar, you need to fill in your stomach, which would have started grumbling by this time. Well, there are a few restaurants that serve authentic, Rajasthani and Gujarathi food in Chennai but this place is one which you would definitely will not want to miss.
If you really want to do justice to the platter that is served for you, better not to eat anything solid the whole day and go there for lunch or dinner. There are a lot of varities and that too they are very tasty.
The starers come steaming hot and they are really great starters if you are starved by the shopping you have done. As you are treated as a Royal Guest, you will feel elated to take that Jal Jeera which you would have refused in another place. But that Jal Jeera too was so tasty and refreshing. Be sure to find floating pieces of Boondi and curry leaves in it which adds more taste and flavour. But make sure not to order more than two or three plates of starters (may be two plates of each varitey) so that there will be enough place for the Thali that follows.
The varities are galore in the Thali that is served. Right from sweets, chappati, poli, puris with varities of gravies, srikand, pickles (the gujarati types), kichadi, more and more. Both Kulfi and buttermilk are sure items not to be missed. As the Thali items are unlimited, you will have to lie down low on the plate to make them stop serving you.
Priced very reasonably, this place is worth to give a small party.
