First off, if you are looking for a tablet priced at less than Rs.30.000/-, this one is definitely for you! The Acer Iconia Tab A500 price in India is approx. Rs.27,900/- & this is really inexpensive as compared to other tablets.
Now you will probably think that, at this price, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 probably compromises on features. That's where you are wrong. Here's a look at what you get at that price..
Right away, the awesome 10.1" screen of the Acer Iconia Tab A500 dazzles you with its brightness & clarity – after all, its got a resolution of 800x1280 pixels. The home screen has a great interface and even gives you the option to customize it to your satisfaction. In case you wish to return to the home screen, all you need to do is to touch the home icon at the bottom of the screen which appears on every page you are viewing/working. Cool!
Then there is the USB port – this is the real highlight and plus point of the Acer Iconia Tab A500. This fully functional USB port enables you to connect a full sized keyboard and mouse. This is a good benefit to people who find it awkward to use onscreen virtual keyboards & is also beneficial to prevent eye strain peering at small alphabets on the screen keyboard. Whats more, you can even plug in a USB drive & if it is a 3G one, connect to e-space right away. For this one feature alone, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 wins hands down over both, the Apple iPad & the Galaxy Tab.
Coming to the operational aspect, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 performs its powerful functions with the aid of Google's Android Honeycomb 3.0 OS. This provides for really easy & quick operations.
So whats not good about the Acer Iconia Tab A500?! Well, the only problem is that this tablet is very heavy, thereby not really portable which is what tablets should be. Secondly – and this is unfortunate – is that you cannot connect an external hard drive unfortunate, because, as stated earlier, it is actually the USB port which is its plus point.
Despite these 2 negative points, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is still recommended simply because if, for its low price, you can get good enough features for basic work, why opt for a bigger dent on your wallet? Go buy it!
