| | Announcing the three galaxy phones Ace, Mini and Gio Samsung have pulled out a tough competition for the android mid range android phones. May be because they all came together I tend to see a lot of similarities between them – ‘mid range Samsung brothers!'. With Samsung ready with android gingerbread update ready for most of their phones which came out with froyo – nokia's symbian bars are in real danger!. To be frank I am not that much impressed for the Samsung Galaxy Gio. Still Samsung galaxy gio is good phone when price complements its quality. Basically all these price conscious (somewhere the manufacture will have to restrict themselves) phone have almost same pros and cons . Samsung's galaxy Gio is powerful 800mhz powered android smart phone. With those loose back cover edges and dotted back phone have a smart look.(But not handsome! – I felt Samsung Galaxy fit have the best look among the ‘brothers'). Slot placements and button options are justifiable in gio Power off cum lock button provided at the right along with the micro sd card slot has nothing to doubt on durability. 3.2" 320x480 pixels display is a nice experience (videos of high resolution are worth viewing in this screen!). If you employ the screen at its maximum brightness you wont have much problems even under sun .Connectivity are strong under gio's 800mhz processor.(Samsung is quite strong over their browsing and connectivity options.) Apart from 7.2 mbps 3g speed you have far reaching bgn Wi-Fi, Gps and Powerful Bluetooth. Samsung have tagged gio's impressive connectivity options as ‘all share' – nice feature for a smart phone. I think Samsung errored while the announced the camera specification of the phone!- 3 MP is delivering more than the number. I found the captured images ( videos excluded!!) lively and clear. Samsung have their own versions of some basic android applications to justify its office potential. Rest what you have in Gio is as same as that in fit or mini – android market, gamil,Youtube like applications and texting feature SWYPE. Battery life is a area of concern while you are availing the great speeds of 3G network. Absence of a potential flash player and poor video recording reduces phones possibilities as a media phone. Again the same story in the case of camera flash Absence of flash restricts night photography As there is no front camera, video calling is not possible in this phone.(Hope someone bring a phone in this price range with this feature).. A good mid range phone smart android phone worth its price tag. Plenty other options are available in the market comparable to gio's price. Spend some time to read the reviews of LG optimus, Xperia mini, remaining galaxy brothers etc.
