| | Around 19 km from Coorg is Madikeri, the capital city and headquarters of Coorg. Raja's place forms one of the most visited places in Madikeri and an important tourist place in Coorg. Raja's Seat is popularly known so, because it exclusively meant to be a sitting place for the Kings and the Royal members of the Coorg. A dancing fountain and a small train also forms an important part of the Raja's Seat. The lush green, spectacular view that is offered from the scenic surroundings all over the Raja's Seat makes your day. The sunset from this point is breathtaking and one should definitely pay a visit to this place when in Coorg. Also the best time to visit Raja's Seat is mostly during Mornings to watch the misty surroundings all over it and in the evenings for the sunset. The tombs and the royal remains of the Kings and the queens of Kodagu also form one of the major attractions of Raja's Seat. Though the Raja of Kodagu were Hindus, yet tombs are built in the place, surprising but maybe for remembrance.
