| | Festivals of India and Other Lands is a very informative book which helps imbibe knowledge and information about various festivals which otherwise children may not be aware of.
This book doesnt just carry information on festivals that are celebrated in India, but also all over the world. These festivals are explained in a simple and unique manner which makes it very easy to understand. They are written in form of a series of letters which a grandmother writes to her grandchildren. Reading such letters can be really fun and also very interesting.
The main aim of this book is to create a feeling of unity and harmony among kids and also a feeling of togetherness which can make celebrating festival more fun.
The books lists around 41 festivals that are celebrated all over India and other lands. The few Indian festival that are listed in this book include Baisakhi, Janmasthami, Raksha Bandhan, Dussera, Mahashivrathri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Diwali and Pateti. The few festivals that the book includes related to other lands are Eid-ul-Fitr, St.Johns Eve, Christmas, Bon Festival, Thanksgiving Day, Chinese New Year, and many more.
The book also includes a detailed information on few special days like Mothers day, Fathers Day, Halloween, Childrens Day and Twelfth Night. Other than detailed description, the book contains beautiful, descriptive pictures which make understanding easy.
