| | Taj mahal is situated in Agra but it is considered as the heart of Indian tourism. It is situated at the banks of river Yamuna, this factor also increases its beauty. Taj mahal is not only in the must visit list of foreigners but also finds a place in the Indians must visit list. Taj is one of the most beautiful monuments in India. It is not only beautiful in its looks, but also has a beautiful reason for which it was built. Accessibility to taj is very good. Taj is still beautiful because of the hard work of its workers who are maintaining its beauty and the efforts of tourism department. These people not only take care of the beauty of Taj Mahal but also its surrounding area by maintaining its gardens.
I treat myself lucky that I got the chance to visit the Taj on environment day 5 June. I witnessed that a tourism officer was addressing the local staff and local civilians. I too joined them and I came to know what all sincere efforts have been done and what needs to be done to keep our beautiful Taj, beautiful. It was told that they have to apply "mung ki dal and multani mitti pack" all over, to keep the whiteness of the marble and to maintain its shine. They also told how some people endanger the beauty of Taj by scratching their names on its walls and marble. To renovate the scratch they have to replace the complete tile. A mere replacement may be a bit easy but to import the tile and replace it becomes costlier affair. They requested all of us not to do this and stop anyone who does it in front of us. After listening to what they were doing to keep this monument in its beauty, I felt it is somewhere our responsibility also and even we can contribute to retain Tajs ... .
After very first look one will find himself or herself mesmerized with the view of the monument and finds it hard to take eyes off from it instantly. Taj has a stagnant tranquility in its environment. It creates a soothing effect and totally relaxes oneself in its first look.
As one enters the main tomb it provides the look for its masterpiece of carving and truly awesome piece of workmanship. Every inch of floor, tomb, walls have been carved in beautiful manner. Here one will get chance to look at the tombs of couple i.e Shahjahan and Mumtaj. There is a museum in the Taj compound area which contains... After moving out of the main tomb one can sit and gaze the Taj. The monument being perfectly symmetrical, it looks same from all the side making the view worth a glance. I would say one must visit and experience this by self at least once in lifetime.
