What a super movie by mani ratnam.Aishwarya rai acting is highlight for this film, what a great actress she is she done 100% hard work for this film.pruthvi raj and vikram has played good roles.music composed by ar rahman is super.All songs in this movie are heatable especially the new singers voices are very sharp.
Mainly we see the raavans ideas and his plans in this film.Telugu actress priyamani played sister role in this movie, Her acting is very good in this film.If we observe some Basic moral values in this movie,we have to take positive thing from every where.finally this could be the good movie in this releases.

Why such movies are made and if made why such movies are passed by Censor Board. Comman man is suffering from lot of problems such as price rise,etc.
This was not Manirattnam is known for.
All attempt from all the characters are in vain. The comedy which was forced in the movie does not make even laugh but you are forced to think that a director like Mani can do this and can compete Ramu.
Acting from Abhishek is horrible while Vikram is good.
Music is good but does not suit to situation.
It is a film which will take the acting carrer of junior Bachchan further down.

Raavan is the one of the best movie in Maniratnams movie.He took too much shots in forest.Audience not got the entertainment but it looks like watching discovery channel/Geographical channel.inspit of it is wonder to take action in multi language,we appreciate to Director.

The Both heros "Vikram and Abhishek" shows good efforts in this movie but Seeta(Aishwarya)is one made excellant action in between them.Some members accept this movie and some members reject this movie because of reason was total movie in back ground of forest basis.The total movie based ont the Ramayanconcept nice effort of Director.

Review: Manirathnam refuses to screen Raavanan at IIFA

The problems are getting more day by day as the issue of hosting IIFA 2010 at Colombo has clinched some of the Eelam supporters herein Tamil Nadu. Before few days ago, the members of this association in Mumbai had protested before the house of Amitabh Bachchan raising slogans that Big B must not attend the IIFA in Sri Lanka as the country was responsible for the death of several Eelam Tamilians.

Big Pictures was planning to screen Manirathnam's Raavanan in this awards ceremony as a part of global premiere show. But now as the protests have gone more above the line they had expected, he has backed off.

In an interview, he has clearly mentioned that even if the film is being screened there, he would not take part and he is not such a rough-hearted person.

Review: Raavanan sold for Rs.350 Crores to Sony and Big Pi

Manirathnam's Raavanan has been making it towards a greater success because of his unbelievable business it has done. The film had the budget of Rs. 60Crores (not including the salary of actors and technicians). The trade analysts have mentioned that the film has done a business of Rs.350Crores to Big Pictures and Sony International.

Both of them are very wildly promoting the film across the ends of globe. The screening of film in all international film festivals has got more fans now. Sony and Big Pictures are confident that the film will earn them at least Rs.550Crores (Rs.200Crs of Profit).

The powerful star-casting of Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, A.R. Rahman, Santhosh Sivan – the cinematographer has more reasons to sell the film.

Review: Raavanan Passes Through Censor Board

All the tree versions of Raavanan in Hindi(Raavan) and in Telugu(Villian) passed through the censor board and were successful in getting a ‘U' certificate, without any cuts.

Raavanan is a multi-starrer movie starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan, Priyamani, Prithviraj and many others.

Well, news in the air about Raavanan is that Rahman is busy working on the background music day and night and Mani Rathnam is with him. The film is seemed to have been sold for 350crores!!! There are expectations that this film will do business up to Rs 550 Crores.

After the release of the film, Manirathnam will not have rights over the story and any other things connected with this film. This is the first time such an agreement has been made for a Manirathnam film. The whole rights have been acquired by Reliance and Sony.

They have planned to release this film in all the theatres in America and London.

Review: Manirathnam to receive international award

Manirathnam is the filmmaker from Tamil Nadu, who has been turning the entire attention of worldwide attention to Kollywood. His films have been unbeatable in Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood. His differentiated ideas of making films that shows his potentiality has been so great in all places.

It is the right time to get honored and this will take place during the Venice Film Festival. The organizer of VIFF has said that Manirathnam will be felicitated with ‘Glory to Filmmaker Award' for his trenchant showpieces delivered in Indian film industry.

Manirathnam is busily campaigning for his next film release Raavanan. Let us wait for his film and you wait for our review.

Review: Ravanan’s audio: It’s official now

Proving media reports true, Sony Music, one of India's leading music companies, has grabbed the Tamil and Telugu audio rights of Mani Ratnam's Ravanan.

If sources are to be believed, the music company has bagged the rights for the audio, which has compositions by Oscar-Grammy awards winner A R Rahman, for a record price.

Quoting sources, reports said, ‘The Tamil audio launch will take place a few days after the Hindi audio which is to be launched on April 24. It will be a red carpet event as Chennai is the home town of Mani Ratnam, Rahman and Vikram.'

Review: ‘Ravanan’ in 2200 Screens Worldwide

Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies' forthcoming film RAAVAN will release in approximately 2200 screens worldwide on Friday, June 18, making it the first Indian film to release simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.

The Hindi version of the film RAAVAN is slated to release in 1250 screens in India and 325 screens overseas in over 35 countries, including India, U.S., Canada, U.K., U.A.E., Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, South Africa, Netherlands, France, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc.

The Tamil version RAVANAN will release in 225 screens in India, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka and also in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nasik, Surat, Baroda, Kolkata cities with English subtitles. It will release in 150 screens overseas in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, U.S., U.K., Middle East Asia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa etc.

The Telugu dubbed version VILLAIN will release in 215 screens in Andhra Pradesh and in additional 25 screens in U.S., Australia and New Zealand.

Review: Tamil Ravanan scores equal to Raavan

Tamil and Telugu versions of Mani Rathnam's Ravanan are to be released in 30 cities in US by Big Cinemas. The film which has Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Prithviraj, Priyamani, Prabhu Karthi and Vaiyapuri is to be screened in 40 screens. This film which is a fusion of drama, action, love and music has been shot in the forests of Kerala, Ooty, Jhansi, Kolkatta, Mahabaleshwari and Malshej Ghats. Reliance Media Works CEO Anil Arjun said that there is a vast audience for Tamil and Telugu films in US and that he is dedicated to reach these quality films to the audience waiting to be entertained. The Tamil version of the film is titled Ravanan, whereas its Telegu dubbed version is called Villian.This film Ravanan is being released worldwide on 18th June 2010.
