I had purchased a tvs starsport (alloy) in April, 2009. My experience with this bike was great. This is an outstanding and efficient bike. The TVS Star is TVS entry-level bike that challenges the dominance of the Bajaj CT 100 in the economy-segment. The Star is equipped with a four-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder engine that generates a displacement of 99.7cc. The engine produces a peak power of 7.5 bhp at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 7.5 Nm at 5500 rpm. The TVS Star sports minimalist style in line with its commuter-bike status. The robust 16-litre fuel tank gives the Star a muscular look but poor quality switchgear and the lack of rear fairing are definite put-offs. On the suspension front, the Star uses single-spine frame and telescopic forks as front suspension and dual shock absorbers at the rear.
