The beautiful red-and-black Samsung Marine has been designed specifically for the outdoors. Designed from anti-shock urethane material, this cell phone gets awesome protection against limited amount of dust and sand. Also, if you happen to drop the phone into a swimming pool, dont fret - the phone is submersible up to 1 meter for 30 min. and will survive the dunking. The Samsung Company states that the Samsung Marine has been tested under specifications defined by the US Department of Defence with Military Standard 810F (MIL-STD-810F).
Additional features of the Samsung Marine specifically for outdoor use include the incorporation of extremely loud external speakers, so hearing should not be a problem in a noisy environment. Wonder if it can withstand the over-noisy Ganapati Festival processions?! Well, maybe, since the Samsung Marine also has a noise cancellation feature optimised for noisy condition. In addition, the Samsung Marine has an incandescent embedded flashlight.
The Samsung Marine also has 1.3MP camera with video recording, a music player with stereo Bluetooth support, and an FM Radio with good reception.
Like many other Samsung cell phones, including the Samsung Guru 1210 and the Samsung Solar Guru, the Samsung Marine has the Mobile Tracker feature too. This automatically sends an SMS to a specific number set in advance when your mobile is lost or stolen and the SIM card is replaced. You can also send an emergency SOS messages to pre-designated contacts.
The Samsung Marine has an expandable memory up to 8GB & is Bluetooth-enabled.
At a price tag of Rs. 7,030/-, the feature-packed Samsung Marine does seem to be value for money for the adventurous consumer!
