Vishranthi Review I headed to this restaurant to try out the highly rated dosas and sambhar. When you look at it from outside, it is not all appealing and would not attract the diner looking for a fancy dining establishment especially one who is extra-hygiene-conscious! The premises does include an air conditioned restaurant, but the best way to enjoy the food here is to join the diners in the outer section and eat while standing at the tall round steel tables.
It is strictly self-service here you pay the cashier, hand over your receipt at the food counter and take your plate to the table. The three of us ordered masala dosa (Rs. 24/-), vadai-sambhar (Rs.13/-) and pav-bhaji (Rs.22/-). All the items were piping hot, the dosa served with 3 types of chutney and a small plastic glass of sambhar. The vadai was medium-sized, non-oily and served in a boat-shaped steel bowl filled to the brim with sambhar and topped with tiny onion pieces (you will be asked if you want the onion topping or not). The crisp dosa had a superb potato vegetable filling and very tasty. In fact, it was even better than the one sampled at Sangeetha restaurant, which says volumes for the quality of food. The loaves of bread of the pav-bhaji dish were nicely browned and the vegetable was extremely delicious. The final icing on the cake was the mini-coffee (Rs.6/-) which had the right amount of milk & sugar and made a fantastic end to a simple dining experience.
Other items that you can feast on here include onion uthapams, puri-bhaji, butter naan and pulav. The air-conditioned restaurant menu inludes manchurian dishes.
Final Verdict : Simple food, economical prices, BEST in taste
