Media player classic is a good replacement for Windows Media player. It can play media formats that even Windows Media Player is incapable of playing. If you have got it installed while installing a codec pack like say K-Lite Codec Pack, it is even better.
The good: 1) If you have a slow computer with low RAM, MPC is you player of choice. It loads fast and consumes less system resources. 2) Supports almost every video and audio file. 3) Very easy to use with a clean and uncluttered interface. 4) Thumbnail summary (see screenshot) possible for videos 5) Free
The bad: None
This is not a full featured audio player, it does not have (neither does it need to have) an equilizer and other audio enchancements like most audio players have. This software was designed to be a lightweight jack of all trades type of a media player with emphasis on format support.
