| | Picasa searches your hard drive for pictures and can be set up to monitor certain folders so that you never miss any photo that is on your computer. In this regard the software does pretty well. The good points about this software are:
1) Good looking and clean interface. 2) Easy to Use 3) Free 4) Geotagging / Export to Google Earth 5) Batch editing (Basic) 6) Collage (create a single photo from multiple photos) multiple photos. 7) Basic Tagging 8) Photo DVD / CD burning / backup.
The bad: 1) No resize option neither in batch mode nor simple editing mode. 2) Hogs CPU time even when nothing is being done (happened twice in about 8 days of using this software). The task manager showed about 21% of processor being used, at that time Picasa was minimized and I had not assigned anything to it. 3) No conversion options.
Well its only selling points are that it offers basic photo management and geotagging. It does not support file conversion or resize, and does not even have as many features as some other free software like Irfanview have.
