| | This is one software I wouldnt like to criticize simply because it is an educational software. But, this software doesnt even have any flaw to begin with, it shows a near perfect representation of the night sky. (I have many times confirmed the position of the moon and mars according to this software.) It even predicts eclipses accurately.
1) Very good representation of the night sky. 2) Pretty fast, despite being a graphics heavy software. 3) Easy to use. 4) Good educational value. 5) Free. 6) Increase, decrease time speed.
This is not your everyday application that edits, creates or views files. It falls in a completely different and unique category itself (with google Earh or NASA Worldwind). But unlike the other such software, Stellarium does not require any internet connection, all positions are calculated with great accuracy, however, because it is graphics heavy old computers (read celerons or Pentium IIIs) might not be able to handle it properly.
