For long I had been longing for a small device that could be connected to my TV and record all my favorite programs. Offcourse you have the DVR boxes, but the viewing options are pretty much limited. I cant download the recorded program to my IPOD for example, I cant do any PC editing.
One of my friends told me about this Iomega HDD, and I had to go for it.
Its a great little device with lots of features. Here is what I did with it.
1. Wireless It has a network port, I connected it to my wireless router and voila- I have my network storage ready.
2. TV In and Out my connection from satellite set top box goes into it using the plain old yellow/red AV cables. Now I can record all my TV programs that I like.
3. Schedule I can put a schedule of the programs I want to record and this guy does the rest- Offcourse your Set top box has to be on and on the channel you want to record.
Overall, I would give this device a 4 out of 5.
If you want to record the programs that you later want to download to your IPOD- Go for it. Else you always have more expensive DVRs to your rescue.
