| | A restaurant from the mysorepa fame Krishna Sweets, this restaurant boasts of authentic Kongunad type food. When we think of Purasalwakkam we the people living in south Chennai think it as going to somewhere to a distant place. Still this place some good eatouts to visit and Rasam have joined those. Think of a grand south Indian feast, you cannot eat it without the Rasam. There are different types of Rasam and eating the Rasam with rice itself in a banana leaf is considered to be an art. Kongunadu is the area around Coimbatore, which includes, Palani, Pollachi, Karur, Salem, Erode, Gobichettipalayam and around
This restaurant boasts of such spreads, mouth watering but quite different from the normal are served. One can get the menu ideas from the chef. The specialities of this restaurant are Ilaneer Halwa (Coconut water Halwa), Karupatti Halwa (Jaggety made out of Palm), Thulasi Vadai (Basil Vada) and to top it all Vethalai Poondu Saatham (Beetel Garlic Rice). You would not want to miss the Kai Salna (veg kurma) served with Ragi Idiyappam.
This is a real new conceptual restaurant in the city. All these days Chennaities have been treated with Mughalai to Italian type of food, but food from Kongunadu is something different and it is worth trying. The lunch time is served only with different thalis. If you wish to taste the above given varities you have to go for a dinner to that place
