The name Keerai Vadai and Karpagambal mess are synonyms if you ask any one living in Mylapore. This mess is located in the heart of Mylapore, Chennai. The food is inexpensive and I have seen people living nearby getting their evening snack or tiffin from this mess regularly. They are very famous for their adai avial and badam halwa.
This is very close to Karpagambal temple and this is the very place one can enjoy authentic south Indian food and south Indian filter coffee.
A very small cramped place but the taste makes you forget every other thing. This place is open from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm and the food they prepare gets over very soon, so be there fast to get the food you wish for. Their Kichadi is another great hit along with ghee dosas and podi dosas. You dont get the sambars and chutneys in cups but the serve you in your plate when ever you ask for, I have seen many people emptying buckets of sambar for a plate of idly or pongal.
