Yes, netbooks has great battery life mainly due to their small screen size and low config . Netbook like samsung nc10 has a battery life of over 8 hrs.For more on battery life check the following post.

yes buying laptop is much more better than notebook, bnecause it contains lots of better features than notebook, but i must say. you should buy that thing as per your need because notebook is for small use and if you dont wish to buy such a costly thing which is not comparable to ur need you should go for notebook, may be it has some features less than the laptop but it is uptu ur need and it stands for ur fullfillment than you should go for it.

Well it all depends on your usage and purpose. Netbooks are basically downgraded versions of notebooks/laptops. They provide better battery life, compactness and portability, due to the compromise on performance and screen size. For general internet usage and surfing not much of high end hardware is needed. So net books have less RAM and less processor power. Which is not needed for net surfing. So, just surfing is your primary concern then you can go in for a net book to help you provide comfortable net access along with portability in wifi zones. But if your looking for multimedia and other study and presentation purposes better go in for a decent laptop/notebook with all be a all puropse device for you. You would be happily able to surf in it and also at later stage you wont crib for not being able to use for multimedia applications which will be the case if you buy a netbook.
