This article gives complete information on using Dropbox; Installing Dropbox.

In another article, we had a look at one of the best ways to share large files over the Internet using Dropbox. This amazing service, once installed on your computer, creates a wonderful synchronization of all the files which you share with your friend & colleagues via the Internet.

Now let's see how to install Dropbox & use it...

Installing and Using Dropbox

1. Sign up for Dropbox at the official website.

2. Download and install the Dropbox program.

3. A new folder titled 'My Dropbox' is set up in your Documents folder. This is opened by double clicking on the icon.

4. You can access the settings which your prefer from the icon provided.

5. A subfolder called 'Public' is created when you install Dropbox. Put your files in there, and when you wish to share one or more files with others, just right-click and select Copy Public Link. This automatically creates an address on the Internet of a link to the file or files and can be shared with others on the Internet irrespective of whether they have Dropbox or not installed on their computers. If, however, you wish to restrict access to certain people only, then right-click and select the option to share the folder. Through the interface provided, you can share those files with others who can, in their turn, edit them or even delete them. For this, they too need to have a Dropbox account (at least the free basic one).

6. The menu includes a feature called 'Forums'. It allows you to interact with other users of Dropbox.

Go on... install Dropbox and see the magically smooth synchronization of your files!
