 Bamboo Nest is a Plantation Resort which is located near the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and is set amidst the beautiful agricultural plantation farm in Thekkady of the Idukki district in the state of Kerala of India. The Plantation resort is set amidst and surrounded by 2 acres of lush green fields, comes with a great view of the Tamilnadu area for about 100 kilometers.

You can go for orientation programs held at the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
There are many nature trails going through different habitats which are about 4-5 kilometers in length. There is an interpretive program offering excellent opportunity to watch birds, butterflies and other wildlife, between 7.00 am. and 10.30 am. and between 2.00 pm. and 3.00 pm. and lasts for about 3 hours. About 5 persons can go together with an experienced tribal guide for trekking at a time.
You can also go for trekking, bamboo rafting, Adventure trekking in the nights, Elephant Rides in to the villages, rock climbing, playing as well a cycling.
Preconditions for joining any of the programs above :
Visitors who are physically fit and aged between 15 - 65 are advised to take the tiger trail. Visitors should be serious nature lovers willing to sacrifice some of the luxuries and comforts of a hotel.
